So, yesterday was Easter and all was going well until about an hour before church. I'm up in my bathroom getting ready and here comes Sophie screaming and crying because her Easter dress is dirty. I look at it and it looks like she's thrown up jelly beans all over it--well she didn't throw up, but she did drool all over it. Holy Crap--what am I supposed to do now? Well naturally I have to have a "mother's tantrum" and start yelling at Jake because he was in charge of making sure Sophie didn't eat anymore jelly beans! I completely freaked out and sent everyone to their rooms.
There was no spotting out the mess, so I threw it in the washer, took it out before the rinse, threw it in the dryer, then ironed it before it was completely dry. In the meantime, Bill found jelly bean "remains" all over the carpet. He was in the laundry room getting the carpet cleaner when I saw him and the first thing he said was, "Now, don't get upset." Upset? Upset? All I asked the kids to do was watch their sister for a minute! They were right there with her watching a movie when all this happened!! And Bill tells me not to get upset! (By the way, Bill was a saint keeping his cool, staying on my side and not siding with the kids, and cleaning the mess off the carpet.)
Anyway, it all worked out in the end. The picture above is just before church so the dress was able to make it's debut, however I was 20 minutes late. Isn't that how holidays go?

"What are you doing?!"
Ok, honestly. I am the happiest girl EVER!!! I've been dying that you've held out so long. What the heck?! It's about time. I promise, you'll love, love it. It is so fun to go back and see what's been going on. I'm terrible at keeping any kind of journal or scrapbook, so this is a fabulous alternative. Love your cute little fam.
Sounds like my Easter morning. I didn't have to re-wash a dress, but I was equally as grumpy and stressed. And, I kept thinking to myself, "this sure is a great way to bring in the Spirit on Easter". Better luck next year, I guess.
I love your blog. And, I can't believe how big Sophie is. Dying. xoxo
