My first project was this burlap wreath. I've seen these done on a ton of blogs, so I decided to give it a try, but I had to make it twice as big for over the fireplace. What do you think? I think the ribbon needs to be wider or something. Any ideas?
It still needs more work--picture in the frame at the end, switch out the pine cones for spring, maybe make some more jute balls for the containers, etc...... Any ideas?
I love burlap these days, so I put some in this picture frame as a mat. Love it.
Decorative balls are a great filler, so I experimented with sheet music, rope and jute. I think I might try making one with burlap.
See my little pillows I got from the giveaway I won? I was expecting them to be a little bigger for my couch, but oh well. They're cute anyway.
My next project is this baby. Still haven't painted the cabinets from the incident here. I'm not looking forward to that job. I'm also painting the walls behind the shelves the same blue as the kitchen here. I haven't decided if I want to paint the middle section since it's built out and not wall behind it. What do you think?
I'm also having the famous red ottoman reupholstered--poor thing has had a rough go of it since Miss Sophie came along! It will be fun to change this room up a bit. Any other ideas?

You are one busy redecorator!
I think the wall behind the built-in will look great painted blue(sorry Jake). And I can't wait to see the "new" ottoman.
On the bookshelves have you considered using a wallpaper that coordinates with the blue paint for the middle section? You can also cheat and just get those nice large sheets of wrapping paper and use double-stick tape to mount them.
Also...as far as the larger ribbon on the wreath goes, here's a pic of a 5" wide ribbon that I used on a Christmas wreath http://www.flickr.com/photos/knightstand/4430647470/. Thought it might give you a reference point!
Those pillows are SOOOOO SMALLLLL!!! WHAT THE HECK???!!!!! Thats funny. Ok, don't know how I missed the grand piano DISASTER but I've never seen that post - HOLY SHIZ. I heard about it from Julie I think but never saw pics, I would FREAK out. Where did you get that piano by the way? I want to buy one when we move and have a room for it, I need one when my kids start taking lessons and I refuse to buy a old ugly wood brown gross tacky one. I need to know a secret cheap piano place, tell me you have one you can tell me about :) KSL but what else? Soooooo....... my advice for the big cabinet thing is to do mirrored backs where it is painted tan and if you really want to go the extra mile replace the 4 shelves on the tan part with glass. The mirrors are super in style and would let a ton of light into the room, not to mention make it look bigger. Candice Olsen does that all of the time (her show is called 'Divine Design,' ever watch her? AMAZING, my favorite designer on TV.) Replace the knobs with chrome or glass and you're good to go. I'd keep them white but thats just me. Have you seen the knobs at Anthropologie? They are mostly $8 each but SOOOOOO worth it and to DIE for. They have some cream or porcelain white ones right now that are roses, super cute but not the right look for your cabinets I don't think. I want to come over and see the renovations. Did I just set the record for longest comment? Holy cow I have a big mouth.
You're a great decorator--keep posting your changes!!!
I'm LOVING all of it. And I can't wait to see the bookshelf make-over. I LOVE the idea of doing a muted wallpaper to give it some texture and pattern. Hello, cute! I'm so glad that one of us is actually doing projects. Since I'm officially burned out, I love seeing all your brilliant ideas - and they all turn out amazing. My favorite one, however, is your ball made out of note paper. SOOO cute! Nice work!
And BTW, I'm DYING over how small those pillows are. Hilarious!
Wow, Brienne just gave you some serious advice!!
Love the blog, love the style, love the pillows most of all! haha!
Your decorating style is beautiful! I especially like the burlap mat in the frame, great family pic too! The nuetrals and whites are a style I love. You have done a great job with this. Love you!

Those pillows honestly make me laugh out loud. That is so funny! Love the stuff you have done and I love the burlap!
Um, you are way more creative to hear anything from me. I don't have the right frame of mind, anyway! I love it all. You are so crafty - that sheet music ball is darling! I miss you guys. We live back in the area... maybe we'll drop in for a visit. I've thought about bringing the little guy over for Jake and Abby to see. Hope everything is awesome for you guys!
